Born in Evritania, Greece, Charles Catsifas fell asleep in the Lord on Tuesday, January 19, 2010, leaving this life on his 75th year on earth to await the resurrection of the dead and the life of the age to come. Charles came to Texas from Greece in 1955 at the age of 20 with limited means to support his family. He graduated from Texas Chiropractic College Pasadena in 1967 and practiced in both Dallas and later in San Antonio, where he relocated to in 1973. He was an active member of St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church where he served on the parish council and was a member of AHEPA for many years. He ran for City Council in 1977 and later became active in real estate. He was a member of the Texas Chiropractic Association and practiced for 42 years. Charles worked tirelessly to help others and was never afraid to stand up for what he believed in. He will always be remembered for his wisdom and dry sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, Katherine; daughter, Christine; brother, Dimitri; sister, Maria; niece, Mary Spiropoulos of Dallas; and many nephews and nieces in Greece. The family wishes to express thanks to all who ministered care and support to Charles during his illness, especially Father Dan Suciu.
