

Charles Octavia Doyle, Jr. entered rest and joined his beloved Dorothy, on October 5, 2015. Born in Memphis, Tennessee, March 12, 1926, Charles was a loving husband to Dorothy, his bride of more than 60 years, Dad to his daughters and Papa to his grandchildren. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran, proudly serving his country for more than 20 years. Following his military retirement, he worked for the U. S. Postal Service in San Antonio. After traveling the world with the U. S. Air Force, he and Dorothy enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas, often taking their grandchildren with them. Charles was predeceased by his beloved bride, Dorothy, and their infant daughter, Patricia Ann; his mother, Vera Lampley Doyle and father Charles O. Doyle; his brothers, Kenneth and Dal and sisters Tavia, Vee and Shirley. He is survived by his daughters, Debra Doyle Mussey (Brett) of Fair Oaks Ranch; and Beverly Durbin (Joe) of Houston; granddaughter Erin Doyle of Helotes; grandson Joseph Doyle Durbin, U. S. Navy; and numerous nieces and nephews. Our family wishes to thank the staff of Patriot Heights in San Antonio, Homewood Residence in Corpus Christi and Horizon Bay Assisted Living in San Antonio for their care following Dad’s stroke in 2011. A special thank you to Brookdale Kingsley and Brookdale Hospice for their compassionate care during Dad’s final days. A private service will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery
