Charles Gill

Charles Gill, age 82, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 5, 2019. He was born on April 19, 1937, in San Antonio to Jesse and Martina Gill. At age 13, he got a job sweeping floors in a pawn shop and worked in the pawn business for the rest of his life. Charles was the owner of San Pedro Pawn Shop, the first pawn shop to open on San Pedro in August 1976. In January 2015, after 40 years in operation, he closed the business and retired. Charles served his country in the Army National Guard for 11 years. He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Helen and brother Gilbert John Gill. Charles is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret; daughter Theresa; son Chris and his wife Jessica; grandsons Julian and Christian; brothers Jesse and Roger; sister-in-law Virginia (Jesse) and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm., Monday, December 16, 2019 at Porter Loring Mortuary.
