CMSgt (USAF Ret) Charles Anthony Malouff, Sr. (Jidi), 88, passed peacefully, Sunday, June 18, 2021, with his loving spouse of 64 years, sons, daughter and grandsons at his side. Chief was born to James M. Malouff, Jr. & Mary Boutross Malouff in La Junta, Colorado on August 28, 1932. He was raised, along with his brother James M. Malouff, III in Kansas City, Missouri.
He enlisted in the United States Air Force on July 4, 1951, and was stationed in England, Turkey, and New Mexico before joining the USAF Reserves back home at Richards-Gebaur AFB, Missouri. He later met and married the “love of his life”, Margaret “Louise” Malouff on February 2, 1957 and returned to Active Duty Air Force to serve a total of 35 years before retiring on October 1, 1986. He received the Bronze Star, along with a myriad of Defense and AF Medals. His distinguished service is highlighted by high visibility positions in Vietnam, Air Force Academy, Officer Training School, Basic Military Training Superintendent (MTI), Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Senior Enlisted Advisor (Command Chief) at Lowry Tech Training Center.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Louise Malouff; children Charles Jr,, Dave and Mary Goreczny, Catherine David, Stephen E. Malouff, David M. Malouff; grandchildren Dana and Tim McCoy, Kristy and Adrian Monjaras, Scott M. Malouff, Amanda and Marc Berk, Michelle and John Chandler, Melissa Malouff, Steffi Goreczny, Elise Malouff, Loren Malouff; great grandchildren Jacob Monjaras, Alice David, Khalil Malouff, Lydia David, Logan Berk, Aiden Monjaras, Edison Berk, August McCoy, Savannah Monjaras; and brother James M. Malouff III. He was predeceased in death by his daughter, Julie Marie Malouff and grandson, Edward ‘Sonny’ Elias David.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 13, 2021 beginning at 8:30 am (Rosary), followed by Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. George Maronite Catholic Church, 6070 Babcock Rd, San Antonio, TX 78240. The burial will be Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery, followed by a Mercy Meal and HAFLI at the Church, Celebrating Charles’ wonderful life!
