Charlie, who is a child of God through his Savior, Jesus Christ, has gone home to be with our Father God in Heaven on Saturday, May 14, 2016. Born in San Antonio on April 23, 1939, to his parents Guy and Elva Nunnelly, Charlie lived most of his life in San Antonio. He cherished his wife Sandra and his three children, Trish, Lisa and Jeff.
Charlie attended Woodlawn Elementary, Horace Mann Jr. High, Jefferson High (Class of '57), San Antonio College, University of Houston, and UTSA. He was blessed with several careers, including Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer, Mgt. Info. Systems Supervisor, Sales Rep, and Budget/Management Analyst. He worked with the U.S. Navy, Southwest Research Institute, Boeing Aerospace (on the Apollo Space Program moon rocket), LTV Aerospace, Friedrich Air Conditioning, Tesoro Petroleum, Harte-Hanks Communications, and the City of San Antonio.
But his greatest accomplishment in life was in 1982, when Charlie accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He and his wife Sandra have kept Jesus as their focal point in life, and will continue to do so, for all eternity. Charlie, most of all, wants all of his family and friends to do the same – to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior – so that someday, you will come to live with Him and Charlie in Heaven. Thank You, Jesus, for our victory over death!!
Charlie is survived by his wife, Sandra (Partida) Nunnelly; daughter Trish and husband Steve McCreary and grandchildren John Christian and Heather Christi; daughter Lisa M. Nunnelly; and son Jeff A. Nunnelly. Also, brother Ken Nunnelly, and his wife Nona, and nephew Greg; brother Pat Nunnelly and his wife Pam, and nieces Julie and Kara, and nephew Scott; the entire Partida Family; and his Jeff High buddies. He dearly loved them all.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 18, from 7:00-9:00 P.M. at Porter Loring Mortuary North. There will be a Celebration Service on Thursday, May 19, at 10:00 A.M. at the Vada Hagee Chapel at Cornerstone Church (18755 Stone Oak). Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park North. In lieu of flowers, please give an offering to the church of your choice.
