Born on August 7, 1922, Charlie grew up in Houston, Texas, where he met and in 1944 married Margaret Elbie Kemp.
He was a member of "B" Coast Artillery, class of 1944, at Texas A & M University, the Ross Volunteers, and the Singing Cadets. The entire class of 1944 left their studies to enlist and serve in World War II.
After the war, Charlie graduated from A & M with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. For 50 years he was a professional engineer and member of ASHRE. He was a member of the Alamo Heights United Methodist Church and its Kum Doublers Class, a supporter of the San Antonio Aggie Club, and a volunteer for the Boysville Auxiliary.
Family and friends loved Charlie's wry sense of humor, his lively insights, and his crisp and concise explanations. He could isolate the important parts of an issue and restate it with simple clarity.
Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Allise Rudloff; his brother, Don Rudloff; and his son, Robert Ernest Rudloff.
He is survived by Margaret, his wife of 64 years; sons, Paul Sumner Rudloff and wife, Patti; and Patrick Kemp Rudloff and wife, Hermy; daughter, Lizabeth Noble and husband, Rick; Lynn Rudloff, widow of Robert; sister, Patricia Brock; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boysville Auxiliary or to the San Antonio A & M Club Foundation Opportunity Award Scholarship, 6205 West Ave, San Antonio, Texas 78213-2315, or to a charity of your choice.
