

Charles, “Charley”, “Dad” or “Dadi”, age 87, passed away on April 13, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas. Charley was born to Lorene and Marvin Ware on September 30, 1934, in Salem, Missouri and grew up in Rolla, Missouri. He was a US Army Veteran, Southwest Missouri State alumni, Mensa member, Mason, avid outdoorsman, pilot, hunter, fisherman, golfer, diver, water and snow skier and was proud of his woodworking skills. He loved nothing better than to throw a great party and was a hell-raiser in his younger years. His love of and ability to lead, inspire and bring out the best in others was evident in his personal life and business successes. Following a prosperous career with JC Penney, Charley chased his entrepreneurial dreams in the restaurant business (Popeye’s Franchises) along with other small business ventures. In fulfilling his adventurous spirit and dreams, he was able to travel the entire world with his best friend and wife, Sandra. Charley lived a great life, sipped his Tequila slow, liked his spice hotter than hot and taught his family to live their lives to the fullest. His passing leaves a void in everyone’s heart, and he will be dearly missed.He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Ware, and Lorene Gordon Winkelman; and sister Colleen Cook. Charles is survived by his wife, Sandra Ware; sons, Stan Ware, Guy Ware (Angie), and Chuck Ware (Miranda); daughters, Victoria Franklin (Robert), Sonja Yoo (Thomas), and Andrea Hicks (Robbie); sisters, Mavis Downing (Ron), Tammie Loescher (Todd), and Chrissy Oliver (Dave); as well as 17 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews & extended family.
