She loved art and studied at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, receiving her Master of Fine Arts from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. She taught weaving and design for many years at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents and son, Kory Funk. Charlotte is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Verne Funk; children, Tracy Gilmer and husband Claud and Chris Funk and wife Jo; grandchildren, Sunny Fuller and husband Matthew, Robin Ray and husband Justin, Harrison Funk and Kelsey Funk; great-grandchildren, Vallen and Wynn Ray and Scarlet Fuller; as well as numerous extended family members and a lifetime of friends.
