

Cheryl was born on August 5, 1944, in Chicago, IL, to Melvin Jefferies and Robbie P. Brooks. She was a proud graduate of Loretto Academy in Chicago, Class of 1962. On September 28, 1996, she married the love of her life, Donald J. Clark, in San Antonio, Texas.
Cheryl dedicated over 30 years of service to Northwest Airlines, later known as Delta Airlines, before retiring in various positions including as a customer service agent. A devout Christian, she was deeply involved in her church, God’s Way Christian Fellowship, where she was known for her beautiful voice and her participation in the church choir. One of her favorite songs was Hold On Old Soldier, which reflected her strength and spirit.
In addition to her commitment to her faith, Cheryl’s vibrant energy led her to explore various other passions. She was an actress and loved being on stage. In 2022, she took part in the play The Big Five-OH, performed by the Lackland Performing Arts at the Air Force Base in San Antonio. Her remarkable performance earned her admiration, and she truly stole the show. She was also a lifelong learner, studying Music at St. Mary’s University in Texas and taking piano lessons in her spare time.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Robbie Pearl Banks; father, Melvin Jefferies; brother, Robert Jefferies; and great-grandson, Christen Caldwell. She leaves behind her loving husband, Donald J. Clark; her children, Marc Phillip Cooper, Derek Clark, Jeffery Jason Hill, and Julie Cheryl (Karl) Webber; her brother, Richard Jefferies, and sister-in-law, Rose Jefferies; as well as her cherished grandchildren, Khristian Cooper, Stephanie (Robert) Caldwell, Morgan Lee, Jason Hill, Robbie Hill, and Quinntin Cooper.
Pallbearers will be Marc Cooper, Jeffery Jason Hill, Quinntin Cooper, Jason Hill, Karl Webber, and Tom Minor Jr.
Funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Lonnie Coleman of God’s Way Christian Fellowship, followed by burial at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Sunset Northwest Funeral Home.
