Christina Frances Torres

Chris was born on October 17, 1962, to Marjorie and John Emmith in Greenville, South Carolina. She spent most of her early life growing up in the suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts where she spent much of her free time with friends and family splashing and dancing on Nahant beach.

Chris enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1983 with plans to explore the world. It was here in San Antonio during her very first assignment she met her heart and soul, Gus. The two were married shortly after on August 10, 1984. She continued to serve eight years for our country. Her career path led to working in administration at Brooks Army Medical Center for over 11 years. Chris and Gus went on to live a beautiful life together for nearly 38 years.

Chris was a fiercely loyal, understanding, kind, creative, strong woman who on many occasions went out of her way to ensure her friends and family felt love in times of stress. She always wanted to make sure everyone she met felt like they mattered. She enjoyed painting, playing bingo, gardening, baking, and traveling. Her patience and grace were always unwavering, and her smile was as contagious as her vivacious laugh.

Chris is survived by her husband, Gustavo; daughter, Jessica; grandson, Benjamin; Mother Jane; fur baby, Angel; and numerous family, extended family, and friends she has made a deeply unforgettable impact on. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marjorie and John, and loving and kind sister, Janice.

Chriss legacy lives on especially in her grandson Benjamin, of whom she wanted the world to know how proud of him she was and grateful for each and every moment she shared with him. She will forever be his wonderful Nana.
