Following graduation from Brackenridge High School in 1939, she went to work for the Travelers Insurance Company in the Milam Building.
A new friend and co-worker, Dorothy Biery Hoagland, introduced her to Dorothy's brother, Sam. Thus began a courtship, marriage and love story which lasted seventy-three years.
Mother was the glue that held the family together, making sure her husband and children were cared for, guided, encouraged and loved. She was active in PTA, Woodlawn (now University) Methodist Church and from 1970 to 1985 was registrar at Thomas Jefferson High School.
Her beloved Sam predeceased her on June 22, 2014.
She is survived by son, Chief United States District Judge Fred Biery; daughter, Anna Lisa Tamez and husband, Daniel D. Tamez, Jr., M.D.; four grandchildren: Samuel P. Bluntzer and wife, Ann; Nolan Thomas Bluntzer and wife, Katherine, Anna Lisa Raymond and husband, Colin; and Molly Em Biery; four great-grandchildren: Thomas Bluntzer, Eliza Dean Bluntzer, Nora Jane Bluntzer and Harlow McKenzie Raymond; dear friend, Marcia Mattingly; numerous nephews and nieces and a multitude of friends.
