Claude Benjamin Pena, age 82, died on Thursday, June 14, 2001, in San Antonio. He was born on October 11, 1918, and raised in Laredo, TX. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII where he received the Purple Heart. He married Ruth Passwater on November 9, 1958. He was an electrician from 1958 until his retirement in 1995. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed his time with his family. Survivers include his wife, Ruth E. Pena of San Antonio; sons, Steven Pena and John B. Pena, both of Round Rock, James "Jim" C. Pena of San Antonio, and Howard D. Pena, of Ft. Worth; daughters, Margaret "Peggy" Gonzales of Monroe, LA, Patricia G. Pena and Cordelia "Cordie" Bays, both of Houston, TX, Ruth E. Pena of San Antonio, and Janet S. Sill of Boerne; brother, Daniel S. Pena of San Antonio; 17 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
