May 23, 1953 – November 24, 2025
Claudette Marie Wiehardt, 72, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025. Born on May 23, 1953, she spent her childhood on the family farm in rural Albers, Illinois, where life was simple, demanding, and filled with love. She learned responsibility early and developed the resourcefulness that came from living without the many conveniences we take for granted today. Those early experiences shaped her unmistakable resilience, practicality, and down-to-earth nature—qualities she carried throughout her life. The values formed there—hard work, humility, and dedication to family—became the foundation of the life she built.
Claudette began college in Joliet, Illinois, where she met the love of her life, Walter. They were married on November 14, 1975, beginning a partnership defined by laughter, unwavering support, and a deep devotion. They were inseparable—in every sense each other’s most trusted companion and best friend.
Claudette was a proud graduate of Saint Louis University, earning her business administration degree with honors. She went on to a long and accomplished career as a purchasing manager, contributing her expertise to several major food manufacturing companies. Known for her professionalism and integrity, she was a trusted colleague and steady leader. She approached every responsibility with care and diligence, but never allowed work to eclipse what mattered most—her family.
Claudette loved visiting with family especially around the holidays as this was a rare time when everyone had time to meet. This gave Claudette a rare chance to talk, laugh, play games, sing songs, and just have a great time with those dear to her. Those who knew her will remember her joyous laugh and the warmth that filled any room she entered. Her quiet strength, gentle humor, and warm presence made every space she entered calmer and kinder. She cherished the simple pleasures of life. She found peace in long walks through botanical gardens, doted on her beloved pets, and delighted in losing herself in a good mystery book. She cherished Christmas and made the season magical for her son, Nicholas, gifting him special ornaments—small treasures that grew into a collection of memories.
Claudette’s strength, selflessness, and steady love enriched the lives of everyone who knew her. Her legacy endures in the hearts she touched and the family she devoted her life to.
Claudette is survived by her husband, Walter Wiehardt; her son, Nicholas Wiehardt; her sisters, Joan (Dennis) Wellen, Carol Feldmann, Donna Bell, and Diane Winland; and her brother, Steve (Nancy) Jansen. She is preceded in death by her parents Alphonse and Henrietta Jansen, brothers, Marvin Jansen and Ronald Jansen, and brother-in-law Rich Feldmann.
A viewing and visitation will be held at Sunset North Funeral Home, located at 910 N Loop 1604 E., San Antonio, Texas, 78232, on December 10, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
