He graduated from Brackenridge High School and played football at Texas State University. He worked in sales for Block Distributing for 38 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing earlier in life, and videotaping deer in his backyard later in life.
Cliff is preceded in death by his wife of 43 years Evelyn (Evie) Staats, and his son, Randy Staats.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Lynn Staats; his daughter and son-in-law Sherri Staats-Creasy and Carl Creasy; his sister, Marlene; grandchildren, Lance, Brooke, Samantha, Harley and Taylor; and great grandchildren, Landon, Jameson, Niki, Davin, Zoey, and Lexi.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm on July 10, 2014 at Hope Lutheran Church, 5714 Callaghan Road, San Antonio, Texas. Pastor Bill Swantner will be officiating.
Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, Texas 78218.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
