Clifford H Wedgeworth Sr., a decorated war veteran, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 1, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on February 7, 1928, in Saucier, Mississippi. Clifford served his country with honor in World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam. After his distinguished military career, he continued his life of service as a Sheriff's deputy for Harrison County, a corrections officer in the state of Texas, a welder in Ingleside, Texas, and many years as security at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, Mississippi.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, the late Zoila Wedgeworth, the sons he raised, Al, Byron, Charlie, and Donald, his parents Dan Wedgeworth and Mamie Scarborough, stepmother Ossie Wedgeworth and brother Joseph Saucier.
Clifford is survived by his son, Clifford Wedgeworth II, and his adored grandchildren, Clifford Wedgeworth III, Jessica (her husband Jay) and Lilliana. His lineage extends to his cherished great-grandchildren, Caydie, Zayden, Zander, Christian, Lola, Arielle, Jonathan, Charlie, and Cylus.
Clifford had a passion for war movies and westerns. In his leisure time, you could often find him watching a classic film or sharing his knowledge and insights with his family.
Clifford Jr would like to thank his daughter Jessica, her husband Jay and their children for their selfless sacrifices in taking care of his dad. Without them, the loving care he received over the last several years would not have been possible. Because of them, he was able to spend his final years surrounded by the love and care of family.
The family would like to thank San Antonio Home Health for years of incredible care, Crest Hospice for the guidance through his hospice journey and the doctors and nurses at Warm Springs Rehabilitation and Methodist Metropolitan.
Per his final wish, he will be cremated and laid to rest alongside his father at the Wedgeworth family cemetery in Saucier, Mississippi.
