Craig Joseph Sawtelle, adoring father, outdoorsman, artist, golfer, ladies' man, dog lover, lover of life, and a true friend to many, was born August 12, 1949, and left us Sunday, February 9, 2014.
He was incredibly gifted and excelled at nearly everything. He was a talented golfer and fisherman, and built custom clubs, fishing rods and lures by hand. He painted beautiful watercolors and could fix anything.
Craig often wore a t-shirt and boat shoes, but cleaned up handsomely in a self-pressed suit and tie. He loved grapefruit, Mexican food and was the king of the grill. His favorite place was the Texas Gulf Coast, where he spent many sunny days with friends, acting as spotter at the bow of the boat. He had a great smile accompanied by his magnificent mustache, a deep laugh and a unique sense of humor. He passed his outlook on life to his daughters, Emily and Claire, who will always be crazy about him.
Craig is survived by his mother, Ruth Sawtelle, sisters Amy and Molly, daughters Emily and Claire, lots of family and a thousand friends, all of whom he loved very much.
