

A lifelong resident of San Antonio, Daniel was a proud graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, Class of 1968. Shortly after graduating, he honorably served his country as a Vietnam Veteran in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1972. Following his military service, Daniel dedicated many years of service working at Kelly Air Force Base, where he built a career defined by reliability, integrity, and hard work before retiring. His strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to providing for his family were hallmarks of his life.
Daniel is reunited in heaven with his beloved wife, Rosa Linda Garnica; his father, Cecilio Garnica; and his mother, Margarita Vargas Garnica.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a proud veteran, a hardworking provider, and a man who deeply valued family, responsibility, and perseverance. Daniel’s legacy lives on through the memories he created and the many lives he touched throughout his years.
Daniel's memory will forever live in the hearts of his brothers, Arturo (Alma), George (Mary Jane), and Carlos (Deborah); his aunt, Maria Guadalupe Galindo; his uncle, Valdimiro “Chato” Vargas; and his many beloved nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, located at 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237, on January 21, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, with a Rosary at 7:00 pm.
A Processional will depart at 9:30 am
The Mass of the Resurrection is scheduled for January 22, 2026, at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 1204 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237.
The committal service with military honors will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209, on January 22, 2026, at 11:30 am.
