He is preceded in death by his wife, Irene Laurel Sanchez.
He is survived by his daughter, Diana Gonzalez Homero from San Antonio, TX; granddaughters, Cordelia Gonzalez from Round Rock, TX and Christina Pena Joaquin; great grandsons: Sebastian Pena and Joaquin Pena from Lytle, TX; sister, Otila Coronado from Laredo, TX; numerous nieces and nephews.
Daniel served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1942-1946 and U.S. Marine Corps Reserves from 1958-1961.
He was an aircraft mechanic at Corpus Christi Naval Air Station and at Laredo Air Force Base until he retired in 1973.
