We are deeply saddened by the passing of David, a cherished former assoilciate of Hotel Contessa. David was dedicated and a long term member of our team whose strength, resilience, and unwavering determination inspired everyone around him. Even while courageously fighting cancer, he remained committed to his work and to his colleagues, choosing to continue showing up with the same professional and heart that defined his career. His perseverance through every treatment reflected the extraordinary character and spirit he carried each day. David was more than a colleague-he was family. His presence brought comfort, reliability, and warmth to those who had the privilege of working alongside him. The impact he made on our team is immeasurable, and the loss is deeply felt by the many associates who are devastated by his passing. He will forever be missed and can never be replaced. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with David's family, friends, and all who knew and loved him during this incredibly difficult time.

Living Life can be very heartbreaking at times. This is one of them. On February 4, I had not heard from my dear “Anonymous” friend. I called and his answering message was no longer his voice but a recorded message. I knew something was not right. Intuition kicked in and I did a google search. There it was- his name listed as an obituary. His passing was January 27. The same date as my father’s passing from long ago. Both died of cancer. I was in shock. Too early. Too young. This past week there have been many cardinals. David and I had long conversations about the Spirit World, Nature, Art, and Bob Dylan.  It is the ties that bind us in the Universe making us all One. David loved his family very much and his AA family. And his work family- fellow employees at the  downtown Hotel Contessa. He held all close and told each how he cared for them. In between during his own private fleeting moments, David was an avid reader of the spiritual and the  philosophical. Here is a Sanskrit Blessing for all  to hold dear in your hearts as he did…
“Look to this day,
The very life of life,
In its brief course lies all,
The realities and verities of existence,
The bliss of growth,
The splendor of action,
The glory of power.
For yesterday is but a dream,
And tomorrow is only a vision.
But today well lived,
Makes every yesterday
A dream of happiness
And every tomorrow
A vision of hope.
Look well, therefore,
To this day.”
This is how David lived his Life. One Day at a Time. Sometimes One Moment at a Time. Unity. Service. Recovery. With the motto of “To Thine Own Self Be True”.
As all you know- Bob Dylan was David’s folk hero. He followed him across the country however and whereever he could to hear him sing. So this is for “Anonymous”, a friend of Bill W., to travel with him on his journey somewhere out there in the Universe- “Blowing in the Wind”., written in 1963, 
2 years before David was born . Amazing Grace Dearest Friend. Your Spirit will Always Shine.
