David Bryan Ebenstein, known fondly to friends and family as Dave, passed away on June 6, 2025, at the age of 57, in his native city of San Antonio, Texas. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend whose vibrant spirit and hearty laugh will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. Born on May 19, 1968, in San Antonio, Dave's early years in the Lone Star State shaped his love for the simple joys in life: good food, classic movies, and the company of his loved ones. After bravely serving his country as a Navy veteran, Dave's dedication to service continued in his civilian life. He was a man who stood firm in his values and made an indelible impact on his community through his work and volunteer efforts. His kindness and generosity knew no bounds, and his legacy of giving and courage will live on through those he inspired. Dave's zest for life shone brightest when he was surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 20 years, Olivia Oakes-Ebenstein, with whom he shared countless treasured moments. Together, they raised a beautiful family, including their children David Cole, Dylan Blake, Sydney Paige, Dean Ryan, Stephanie Brooke, and Jacob David. Each child a testament to Dave's unwavering love and guidance. He loved his boys David, Dylan and Dean beyond measure making every memory he could on the football field with them. His love for his princess Sydney will forever remain in her heart in every Lego set she built for him. All the moments with Steph and Jacob will be forever precious. He was a cherished brother to Wanda Coleman Conley and Kathy Buys, whose bonds were unbreakable and filled with laughter and mutual respect. In his leisure, Dave could often be found in the kitchen, orchestrating a symphony of flavors as he cooked with his children, passing on his passion for culinary adventures. A fan of the silver screen, he enjoyed watching western movies, and his love for Top Gun was well-known among his family. Above all, the moments he cherished most were those spent in the warm embrace of his family, creating memories that would last a lifetime. As we say goodbye to a man of great stature and warmth, we are reminded of the words of William Shakespeare, "All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players; they have their exits and their entrances." Dave played his role on this earthly stage with grace, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones. His exit, though sorrowful, leaves behind a legacy of love, honor, and the precious memories that will be forever etched in the hearts of those who knew him. David Bryan Ebenstein's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and community. As we reflect on his journey, we are comforted by the indelible mark he left on our lives. His spirit, like a beacon of light, continues to guide us, and his memory will forever be a source of strength and inspiration. Rest in peace, Monster, until we meet again.
A Memorial Service will take place on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary West.
