David Edward Gomes

June 23, 1963 – January 19, 2019

The gates of Heaven opened and welcomed David Edward Gomes age 55. He entered the Kingdom of Heaven where he was welcomed at the golden gate by our Lord and Savior, Jesus and his father Edward Gomes who greeted his son with open arms. David passed away peacefully in his sleep from a heart attack on January 19, 2019. He is survived by his mother, Cecilia J. Gomes, brothers, Andrew, Michael and his Aunt Norma Sorola. He graduated from Harlingen High School in 1981, received an associate degree as an optometry technician and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Texas San Antonio with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. David began his career as an optometry technician but later decided to pursue a career in construction and remodeling. He started his own business named First Aid Repair & Remodeling and later incorporated his business with government contracts and became a property building manager. In addition, he managed work projects for the Veterans Annex Administration Building and other various projects for the Human Resource Buildings in San Antonio and other cities. He adored his mother and brothers and would always cater to their needs. His prerogative was taking care of his mother. David was a perfectionist and took pride in taking care of all his mother’s household projects. When a friend needed his help, he would never hesitate to meet their needs. Dave was a caring, giving, funny, creative, dependable and friend to all that he met in his journey through life. He enjoyed and lived his life to the fullest. His recent passion in life included trucks, cars and motorcycles. We love you David and will always miss you. Till we join you in heaven your memory will live on forever in our thoughts and heart.
