David Brian Ledwig, age 66, went home to be with the Lord Jesus on Friday, August 1, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. David lived his life devoted to God; through life's joy and hardship his faith in Jesus remained his anchor. He loved the Lord with all his heart, soul, mind and strength (Mark 12:30). His children were his pride and joy, and he loved them deeply. He was a husband who stayed the course and loved his wife the best way he knew how with a heart that always tried.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Laverne Ledwig; mother, Ethel Mae Lukasik; brother, Joseph Ledwig; sisters, Valerie Ledwig Winn and Carolyn Ledwig Earhart. David is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marlene Ledwig; children, Johnathan Ledwig, Nathan Ledwig, Ethan Ledwig and Sarah Ledwig; sisters, Laurie Ledwig and Joan Ledwig Moore; also, by a large extended family including brothers-in-law/sisters-in-law and countless nieces and nephews that had a special place in his heart.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Porter Loring Mortuary North, 2102 N. Loop 1604 E., San Antonio, Texas 78232. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m.
We are honored that the same Chaplain Daniel Hubble who joined us in marriage will now officiate David Ledwig’s memorial service.
