
David Russell Miller, born December 21, 1956 in Houston, Texas, died Sunday night, May 26, 2002, after a fierce and brave battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family and a host of friends and his kittens, Junior and Tubby, who kept vigil at his side for several days.
David is survived by his wife and best friend, Martha, biology teacher at Lee High School; by his mother Martha E. Miller, brother Robert Read, sister-in-law Rebecca Read, all of Houston; and by his loving mother-in-law Barbara Knightley, sister-in-law Lou Knightley, brother-in-law Tom Cloudt and niece Jennifer Cloudt of San Antonio.
David attended Memorial High School in Houston and Del Mar College in Corpus Christi. He followed his family into railroading with Southern Pacific for seven years and then worked at several jobs before finding his true calling the last thirteen years as a Child Suport Officer with the Texas Attorney General's Office in San Antonio.
He loved music, photography, art, auto racing, the beach and his motorcycle. David and Martha traveled extensively, and his greatest thrill was attending the Formula One race in Austria. He lived live to its fullest, experiencing joy as well as pain in the loss of his wife's grandparent's, his father and his best friend. His sense of humor and good nature endeared him to many friends who will treasure his memory.Lord, now comes for your eternal care David Miller, a true and compassionate son, who loved and was loved by all who knew him.
