

David was born June 23, 1929 in San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years Armida (Amy) T. Murguia, his mother Guadalupe, step-mother Francis, father David Sr., and sisters Rosario, Alice (Jesse), Dolores (Mario), and brother Raul (Caroline). He is survived by his daughters Theresa and Catherine; his sons Michael (Becky), Vincent, Philip (Antonia), David III (Kimberly), Mark (Tina), and Matthew; his sisters Mary Francis (Guillermo), Mary Lou (Bill), Patricia (Richard); and brothers Edward (Connie) and Gerard (Nancy), as well as many, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
From age eight, David helped his father operate Green Tree Cleaners in San Antonio. After graduating from St. Gerards Catholic High School, he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict achieving the rank of Corporal. Upon discharge, he worked mostly at night at Kelly AFB as a computer operator and with the help of the G.I. Bill and his Kelly employment, he attended St. Marys Law School graduating with a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree.
Upon graduation he established a law office in San Antonio while continuing to work at Kelly. When their youngest child graduated from high school, he was joined by his wife, Armida, and grew the very successful practice serving an untold number of individuals over more than 30 years. Illness forced him to retire in 1997.
Regaining his health, Armida and David enjoyed their children, grandchildren, the Murguia family ranch in Mexico, and traveled the U.S. extensively, especially to Las Vegas and Coushatta.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 1, 2021 at Porter Loring Mortuary.
