David Allen Rivera

David Allen Rivera, age 51 passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025. David was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. David Allen Rivera was preceded in death by his father, Jose Luis Rivera. David is survived by his wife, Imelda Pauline (Ramirez) Rivera, and their 3 loving children: Solana Lucia Rivera, Chloe Alexandra Rivera, and Owen Ramirez Rivera; mother, Marsha Kay (Sligar) Rivera; brother, Jose Earl Rivera; nephews and nieces, and loving friends.

David is a graduate of Clark High School and attended classes at San Antonio College before realizing his talent of writing code. His passion for his career showed as he resolved issues as a Web Application Developer at North East Independent School District; Senior Web Developer at Cazton, LLC and Senior Web Developer at Oak Street Health. He was often found late at night, working to solve gnarly code, researching and developing solutions.

David enjoyed games such as Warhammer, Sentinels of the Multiverse, Baldur’s Gate, Guild Wars, all with his close friends, often on his own. He introduced his family to non mainstream games and the family still enjoys playing some of these games.

David loved being with his family on road trips, and they travelled through many states, enjoying being on the road. He was most proud of his children and their life accomplishments. David will be remembered for his guidance, his unwavering dad jokes, and the laugh that would rock the house when something was truly funny.

A visitation for David will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232, with a rosary & vigil to begin at 11:00 AM. A committal service will occur Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 9:15 AM to 9:45 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209. Flowers are welcome, as are contributions to the National Kidney Foundation.
