She is survived by her husband, Bob; son, Kellen; brother, David and his wife Liz; sister, Debra; several nieces, nephews, cousins, four step-children, fourteen step-grandchildren, and her surrogate daughter, Rose Guzman-Jones.
Dayna is described as a person who is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and caring to family and friends. She, on more than one occasion, gave up her seat in first class to a soldier trying to get home for the holidays. She gave out coffee shop gift cards to strangers at Christmas time. She bought school supplies for needy grade school students.
She graduated from Southwest Texas State and earned her Master’s Degree from Our Lady of the Lake University, she was an avid family historian, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an extraordinarily successful businesswoman, retiring as Senior Vice President for Human Resources, owned and operated a B&B and was an avid traveler, often saying, “I want to see everything”. Dayna made her mark on the world and we are all better because she was in our lives. Missed, loved, but never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Dayna’s memory to the San Antonio Alzheimer’s Association(www.alz.org/walk)
