Debra sent this email to a few of us moms Cindy Morris, MiChel Garza, Tina Torres, AhillsLAH and I on March 9, 2006 and to Lindsey, Rachel and Max. It was as if she was asking each of us to watch over her children for her. Your Mother is always with you. 
She's the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street, 
she's the smell of certain foods you remember, 
flowers you pick and perfume that she wore, 
she's the cool hand on your brow when you're not feeling well, 
she's your breath in the air on a cold winter's day. 
She is the sound of the rain that lulls you to sleep, 
the colors of a rainbow, 
she is Christmas morning. Your Mother lives inside your laughter. 
And she's crystallized in every tear drop. A mother shows every emotion........... happiness, sadness, fear, jealousy, love, hate, anger, helplessness, excitement, joy, sorrow.....and all the while, hoping and praying you will only know the good feelings in life. She's the place you came from, your first home, and she's the map you follow with every step you take. She's your first love, your first friend, even your first enemy, but nothing on earth can separate you.

I have been out sick and just found out about Deb's passing. If I had known I would have gone to her service. I worked with Deb @ Humana. When I first started working here I had left for maternity leave to have my daughter. When I returned there was this little note and some baby hangers that this person I had not known since I had barely started had given me for my daughter. It was Deb. From that point on she became someone that was very dear to me. Even though she had left Humana later on, she is someone who has always stayed in my heart. She is in a better place now watching over everyone that she loved and cared for. She will be missed dearly. My sincere condolences are with her husband and children.

Due to unexpectted circumstances it is impossible for Yoli and I to be with you and your family on this very emotional day. Yoli and I want you to know that our heart and prayers are forever with you. It has saddened us to know how it could it possible for you to lose your beautiful wife at such a young age but God has blessed you in so many ways. God has given a gift to you in Debra for many years and now he has found a better place for her where she will surely bring gifts of love and laughter. Your best friend, your wife and the mother of your children leaves a legacy of love ,patience, caring, creativity and laughter. Debra fell in love with you years ago because of you heart, your spirit, your zest for life and maybe your good looks. When I first met Debra we discovered that our daughters Lindsey had the same birth date. We worked together on the Sonterra swim team and enjoyed sharing moments regarding our children. She was a devoted mom and so loved her family. We will keep her family in our prayers. With sincere sympathy.

My dad, Fred, and Uncle Max were very close.

Debra sometimes did water exercises at Sonterra last summer with a group of us ladies. She shared stories about her family who were the joy of her life. She was so proud of her children and kept us informed of their activities. She was so grateful for the support and love she felt from her husband and mother. As bad as we knew she felt at times, she was such a positive person and never complained. I know she will be missed greatly.
