

Yeager grew up in Fort Worth, TX and graduated from Laneri High School. He earned his B.A. from Loyola University, New Orleans in 1964.
Active in student government, he was elected to the National Student Association, a national organization of college student leaders working to promote a range of social issues, including civil rights.
He served one year as national vice-president. In 1964 he moved to New York City to attend law school at Columbia University.
He graduated in 1967 and began work as Director of National Employment Law Project in New York, a public interest law firm dedicated to combating employment discrimination. He joined the Manhattan firm of Tufo, Johnson & Zuccotti in the early 1970s where he practiced law until 1980 when he established his own law firm. An expert in corporate law, he retired from practice in 2007. He was a member of the University Club for 32 years.
Dennis Yeager was the devoted husband of Jere Jean Jones. They were married in 1963 and together raised three daughters.
They lived in New York City from 1964 until 2005 when they moved to San Antonio, TX. An avid horseback rider, he enjoyed years of riding and fox hunting with various hunts in New York and Connecticut and occasionally, England and Ireland. He and his wife took extended horseback riding excursions through Southern Africa and Argentina. All told, they rode horses on four continents.
Yeager also loved books. He was an especially avid reader of history and biography.
Dennis Yeager leaves behind his wife, Jere Jean Jones, daughters Stephanie Y. O'Donnell of Holden, MA, Brenda M. Yeager of Loch Lomond, CA, and Karen Y. Kimball of McKinney, TX, and five granddaughters. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael Yeager.
Visitation will be Friday evening, October 8, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Porter Loring on McCullough.
