

Diane Denise Hampton went home to the Lord on July 26, 2014 at the young age of 56 at Northeast Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, TX. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing. Diane was born on December 9, 1957. She attended Southwest High School in San Antonio, TX where she lived for several years before meeting and marrying the love of her life Thomas E. Hampton. Together they moved to Colorado Springs, CO where they lived for nearly 9 years before being transferred to Germany where they spent an adventurous 6 years touring Europe together. They then returned home to San Antonio where their children and grandchildren lived. Diane's life was about her family and service to others. She never met a stranger as she touched many lives, Diane was loved by all. She was preceded in death by her brother David Pettit II and her mother Annie Mae Pettit. Those left behind to honor her memory are her loving husband of 30 years Thomas E. Hampton and their 6 children: daughter Renatte Hampton and her 3 children, Jonathan, Jordan and Joel; daughter Kathryn Rankin, her husband and their 3 children, Cameron, Grant and Morgan; son David Hampton; son Trinity Hampton, his wife and their 3 children, Aaron, Serenity and Hunter; daughter Laura Sanderson, her husband and their 5 children, Connor, Gena, Evan, Mark Jr. and Nathaniel; son Thomas W. Hampton, his wife and their 2 children Ashlynn and Jay; great grandchild, Azarias Hampton; her father, David Pettit; sisters, Vickie Geisel and Emily Pettit; many cousins, nieces and nephews, numerous family members, dear friends; and her 3 dogs and 2 cats.
Diane spent her life caring for others and naturally was drawn to the nursing profession. She was a retired dialysis nurse and felt it was an honor to care for those in need. She gave herself unselfishly in her professional and personal life. When not at home caring for family and friends; she was at the ranch raising registered cattle. Diane was the heart and soul of her family and lived her life for her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all those who loved her.
Visitation will be held at 3:00pm on August 2, 2014 at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 N Loop 1604 E San Antonio, TX followed by a Memorial service at 4:00pm, with a reception immediately to follow at 410 Shadywood Ln, San Antonio, TX 78216.
