Dick Senter

Richard "Dick" Wayne Senter went to be with his Savior and Lord on April 5, 2017. He was 81 years old. Dick was born to C.B. and Thelma Jeane Senter in Van, Texas on September 30, 1935. Dick graduated from Baylor University in 1957 and was the President of the Baylor Chamber of Commerce. Dick was a life-long Baylor Bear fan. Dick graduated from Southwestern Seminary in Ft. Worth and was ordained as a Baptist Minister. Bro. (Brother) Dick, as he was affectionately called, served as the Senior Pastor for Clariette Baptist Church (two years), First Baptist Mabank (seven years) and First Baptist Allen, TX (27 years). His long-term service at Allen was one of his greatest privileges. Upon moving to San Antonio 1998, Bro. Dick served as Interim Pastor of Woodlake Baptist, Madison Hills Baptist, Baptist Temple and Churchill Baptist. Bro. Dick served as the Associate Pastor of Pastoral Care and Senior Adults at Churchill Baptist for 12 years until his retirement at age 80. Bro. Dick served for many years on the board of International Crusades. He was also President of Dick Senter's Ministries which has supported global mission efforts for over 20 years.

Dick was preceded in death his parents and sister, Dorothy Lynn Senter. Dick is survived by the love of his life and wife of 57 years, Judy. He is also survived by daughter, Susan Senter of Plano, TX; son, Scott Senter and wife, Lori of San Antonio and his four grandkids that he was so proud of – Grant, Lee, Madeline and Jackson Senter.

Visitation will be Friday, April 7, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary North. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Churchill Baptist, 12400 Vista View, San Antonio, TX 78231. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Churchill Baptist Church Mission Fund.
