Dolores P. Tellez (1965-2024) was the most caring, lively, humorous, and bright person you'd ever meet. No matter what hardship or adversity came her way, she would always smile and the most infectious smile at that. From having to face a harsh upbringing, to raising a child all on her own, to the loss of her father, to battling brain cancer, Dolores never gave up and would "keep on keeping on," as she would say.
At age 40, she gave birth to Jayden Perez and loved him more than any mother can love a child. She made sure to give Jayden the best years of his life, and she'd say that having her son was the best part of her entire life. Even when money was tight and would have to take Jayden to school on the bus every morning or wait in Food Bank lines for food, Dolores would do everything in her power to keep Jayden safe and happy. And she made him happier than anyone knew. A huge head-banger all her life, Dolores loved rock and roll music. Always listening to Elvis, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, and other rock legends, she'd make sure to scream and shout at every concert she went to including her son's. Jayden took a passion for all things music and his biggest inspiration has always been his mom, and she continues to be his biggest motivation. In 2022, Dolores went on to be a substitute teacher in the Edgewood Independent School District. During her time of employment, she loved her job and spending time with the kids, and she would always make their day.
In May of 2023, Dolores was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer, and was told she would only have four-six months left to live. After months of chemo, radiation, and clinical trials, Dolores went on to fight GBM for a year and a half, beating the odds. On October 9, 2024, at 11:11a.m., Dolores passed away after her long battle with cancer. Her son, Jayden, will keep on keeping on all because of his mom.
We would also like to thank Jayden Perez, Angel Perez, Daniel Cantu, Jeremiah Garza, Lucian Wygocki and Eli Casillas for being Pallbearers.
During the visitation time of 9:30 am to 11:00 am, the family of Dolores will be having a breakfast gathering and warmly welcomes you to come and share memories and stories of Dolores.
There will be a Visitation on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 beginning at 9:30 am with a Chapel Service at 11:00 am at Trevino Home, 226 Cupples Rd., San Antonio, Tx 78237. Burial will follow at San Fernando Cemetery III, 1735 Cupples Rd., San Antonio, Tx 78226.
