

Don Thi Nguyen was born on June 23, 1946 in Vietnam shortly before the Vietnam War. Throughout her life, she suffered many struggles including escaping her home in North Vietnam as a child due to persecution of Catholics and then escaping her home in South Vietnam due to post-war conflicts within the country. Despite her hardships, she remained a strong, devoted, and loving mother to her 5 children and later many grandchildren. She had many joys and talents, of which flowers and gardening were her favorites. Her favorite flower was the orchid.
She is survived by her children: Kim Nguyen (husband Cau Le), Melissa Nguyen (husband Louis Nguyen), Linda Nguyen, Alex Nguyen (wife Mai Nguyen), and Joshua “Tony” Nguyen. She is survived by many grandchildren. In the last several months of her life, she was cared for by her granddaughters and their partners: Victoria Tram Nguyen (husband Christian Calimlim), Angela Nguyen (Johnpaul Anamege), Tammy Nguyen (Sam Evans), and Jacqueline Nguyen.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6, at 5:30PM at the Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
A Catholic funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 7, at 10:00AM at Vietnamese Martyrs Catholic Church.
