

Mr. Adam was born July 5th, 1927 to Albert and Frieda (Huess) Adam in Waukesha, Wisconsin. He took his final flight on December 4th, 2012 and joined his wife Patricia (Leiendecker) Adam, along with his parents and brother, John Adam in heaven.
He is survived by his sister, Mary (Adam) Hampton of Waukesha, WI. He is further survived by nieces, Diane and Kathleen, both of Wisconsin; nephews, Richard (Wisconsin), Michael (Tennessee), Robert (Arizona), and Anthony (Wisconsin). He was preceded in death by nephew, Donald and niece, Peggy, along with brother-in-law, Bob Hampton.
Lt. Col. Adam proudly served 36 years with the Army Air Corp and United States Air Force as a fighter pilot. He flew in several conflicts, to include WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He served with NATO as well as with the United States Pentagon. He was proud of his service to his county and would readily share his stories with anyone who would listen. He traveled the world throughout his career with his beloved wife, Lt. Col. Patricia and received numerous accommodations for his dedicated service.
He and his wife, Pat retired with friends and colleagues to Air Force Village in San Antonio, Texas where he resided for the past 18 years. He enjoyed conversing in German with several of his friends while residing at the Village. Special thanks should be given to the staff of Air Force Village, particularly, Freedom House, who assisted him in his final days. Special thanks to staff and physican's at Lackland Air Force Base (Wilford Hall), for their exceptional care during his retirement years. A Memorial service was held at Air Force Village on December 7th, 2012.
A Memorial visitation/service will be held in Don's honor on January 12, 2013 at Prairie Home Cemetery/Chapel in Waukesha, WI from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with interment to follow. Service will be provided by Pastor's Dave and Cristy Schoob.
