Donald “Lefty” Falcon was born to Emmanuel and Lydia Falcon on October 7,1947 in the city of San Antonio, TX and on August 14, 2025, Donald was called away to Heaven. He passed away at home as he requested. Donald was surrounded by his wife (Elsa) and family.
Donald and Maria Elsa married in San Antonio TX on July 9 , 2016. The beautiful service was held at the Cornerstone/Vada Hagee Chapel. Donald and Elsa met while participating in the incredible Cornerstone Choir. Donald and Elsa enjoyed many married years together.
Donald was a graduate of the 1965 Edgewood High School class. Donald went on to attend St Mary’s University. Donald had many talents and passions; baseball and bowling were at the top of his list along with his participation in the Cornerstone Choir. Donald was selected to play pro baseball and selected to play for the Cincinnati Reds Aug 1968- Nov 1970. Donald was an awesome pitcher and got his nickname “Lefty” that stuck with him for the rest of his life. After baseball Donald joined the San Antonio Bexar County Sheriff Office where his stayed for 40 years. During his time with BC Sheriff Office, Donald had the honor of providing protection services for Governor Ann Richards, Cornerstone Church and several well known celebrities. After retirement Donald quickly moved to his passion for Bowling and continued his commitment to his faith and choir. Donald prayed daily and all his challenges could always be resolved by his strong faith and the word of God.
Donald quickly moved into competitive bowling where making a few pins sing, and sharing a few jokes often sent him home with winner’s dollars. Never a dull moment when Don was around. Don shared his passion of Bowling with his wife, Elsa which allowed them to travel to many states and bring home many medals and of course a few new stories.
Donald is preceded in death by his mother Lydia, his father Emmanuel, his brothers Junior and David Paul (June). He is survived by his brothers Danny (Dawn) Falcon, Robert Falcon, his sister Yvonne F. Garay and Rose Ann (Tim) Cadena and several nieces and nephews.
Donald often repeated the following “My last breath on earth is my first breathe in Heaven”. This quote brings me strength today and every day. Donald was loved by many; he will be missed.
Thank you to all his friends and family for being my support system during this difficult time.
