Donald L. Fischer

He was born on February 19, 1950 and was a lifelong resident of San Antonio, Texas. Don graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. He graduated from Texas A&M University, Class of 1972.

Don was a former member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band and President of the San Antonio A&M Club and the Area Rep for the Association of Former Students.

Don faithfully served his country for 25 years in the U. S. Navy Reserve and was a sales representative for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals for 32 years and was respected by the medical community. Don loved The Lord, family and friends, was loved by all, and will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin D. Fischer, Jr. and Margie Glaspie Fischer;

Don is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kathi Altwein Fischer; son, Barrett Fischer and wife, Jennifer; granddaughter, Braelynn Grace Fischer; mother Marie Fajkus; sister, Patricia Griste (Charles); brothers, Bob Fajkus (Lynda) and Larry Fajkus and a number of nieces, nephews, close family and friends.

We gratefully acknowledge and thank the bone marrow unit and the oncology unit at the Main Methodist Hospital, 8th and 10th floor.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
