

He was born on August 1, 1941 in Corning, NY to John Joseph and Louise Fishler Kosty.
Mr. Kosty graduated high school from Corning Free Academy in 1959 and attended St. Bonaventure University, Wells College, and the University of Buffalo.
He was an early pioneer in the field of data processing, serving as the first Director of the Computer Center of Corning Community College in Corning, NY.
During that time, he created a medieval linguistics analysis program.
After moving to Texas, he served as the Data Processing Manager for the City of New Braunfels until 1995, receiving the Distinguished Budget Preparation Award.
Mr. Kosty was a member of St. David's Episcopal Church and the San Antonio Conservation Society.
He is survived by his wife, Carlita Hughes Kosty of San Antonio; son, John Sterling Kosty of Atlanta, GA; step-daughter, Sharon Lamm Heusinger and son-in-law, Patrick Edward Heusinger of San Antonio; former wife, Carolyn Quinton Brown of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Zoe Frances Jasso; Patrick Edward "PJ" Heusinger, Jr.; Andrew Carl Heusinger; Michael Rees Heusinger all of San Antonio; sisters, Agnes Kosty Sherman; Mary Norma Kosty both of Miami, FL; and Pauline Kosty Kane of New Orleans, LA.
