Donald Clark Lewis

Donald Clark Lewis, at the young age of 63, passed into eternal rest unexpectedly on Sunday, October 11, 2015. Donald was a resident of the San Antonio area for many years and a former resident of Corning, New York. He was born on June 22, 1952 to Floyd and Marjorie (Clark) Lewis.

Don graduated from Corning Painted Post East High School and soon thereafter joined the Army were he began his education in biomedical maintenance and repair. Don served his country oversees in Korea and was stationed across Texas and Colorado during his enlistment. After an honorable discharge, he began his own company, ATEX Medical and Dental, which he owned and operated for over thirty years until his untimely death.

Don was an avid volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America, and his work included the organizing of fundraising events and camping excursions. He was an enthusiastic sports fan and loved his San Antonio Spurs and New York Giants. He also became a strong Pittsburgh Steelers fan later in life after years of persuasion from his family of Steelers fans.

Don, as a father, was in a class all his own. He not only fathered his three children Beth, Scott, and Sharon, but also raised others that were in need of fatherly support no matter their age or need. Don always put his family first; and his family was vast. Whether there was a flat tire, last minute move, car breakdown, or family health event…he was there. He showed his children and those under his care that family is strong and always there for each other. He could either deliver a laugh when needed or cry with you, whichever was the best option. No matter the crisis or problem, he was there with all that he had to help.

Don, or Dad as we called him, will never be replaced nor forgotten.

Don is preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Marjorie Lewis, his older brother Wayne F. Lewis, and granddaughter Jessica Ashlee.

He is survived by his children: Beth Lewis of Canyon Lake and her three children; Kayla and Casey Murphy, Gregory Boyle, and Kevin and Stephanie Boyle. Scott and Dani Lewis of Little Elm, Texas and their two children, Caitlyn Lewis and Casey Lewis; Sharon (Lewis) and Bruce Branson of Rowlett, Texas and their three children, Josh Branson, Alyssa Branson, and Jacob Branson. Don has two great-grandchildren from Kayla Murphy, Finnley and Declan Murphy.

He is also survived by his siblings, Kathryn Lewis and Marcia Stewart of Corning, NY, Ann (Lewis) and Douglas Clark of New Lebanon, NY and Kenneth Lewis of Corning NY.

Services will be held at Porter Loring Mortuary North, in San Antonio on October 24, 2015 at 2:00 P.M.

His remains to be placed in Rural Home Cemetery, Big Flats, NY, at a date to be announced.
