It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Donna Lynn Conti, whose resilience and strength left a mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. We all have great peace knowing that Donna is now lovingly held by her Savior after passing away peacefully on December 30, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas.
Donna was born on November 26, 1960, in Plaquemine, Louisiana. She was a remarkable woman who lived her life with great determination and faith, despite battling Friedrich's Ataxia and its effects for many years. Although this condition progressively challenged her body, it never diminished her spirit. She fought valiantly and received loving care from her family, living decades past her life expectancy and inspiring all who knew her.
Throughout her life, Donna was known for her kindness, fun loving spirit, and her ability to find joy even in the face of so many challenges and pain. She cherished times spent with her four granddaughters, and her love and dedication to her family was boundless. Even in the most difficult times, she continued joyfully, and her perseverance was a testament to her strength and character.
Donna was proceeded in death by her mother Sandra Suggs, her brothers Bodie and Joe Suggs and Godson Kyle Ourso. She is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years, Michael; daughter Amy Calderon and husband Stephen; daughter Kimberly McCollum and husband Bradley; and her four beautiful granddaughters who adored their Gigi – Aubrey, Paige, Kathryn and Juliet. She was survived by her father Clifford and stepmother Patsy Suggs, sister Mary Hotard and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her memory will live on through all of us that she loved and the countless others that she inspired.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to her team of physicians who lovingly cared for her for many years – Cliff Alprin, Varshi Broumand, Hamed Mizani, Prasad Vemulapalli and Farbod Malek, as well as her devoted caregiver Cat Norton.
