

Our beloved Doris Nashold Loisel, Mim, passed away on December 10, 2013 at the age of 93. She is preceded in death by her husband, Col. Donald Nashold, Ret., granddaughters Bonnie Tenielle James, Alexandra James, and her second husband Lt. Col. Vernon Loisel, Ret. She will be greatly missed and cherished by her daughter, Donna Nashold James (Fred); granddaughters Allie Danielle James, Rachel James Isaak (Brian); great-grandchildren Charlotte, Zachary, and Patrick; step-children Eleanor (Cookie) Dwyer (Don), Carla Norwood (Gilbert), Clary Loisel, PhD, and numerous nieces, nephews, and sister-in-law Ruth Jean of Tennessee.
Mim grew up on a farm outside of Fayetteville, Tennessee and fulfilled her childhood ambition to be a Registered Nurse. She practiced nursing for forty years. Mim proudly served in the Army Nurse Corps and the reserves and was stationed in the Philippines. She later worked as a civilian in the military hospitals in Izmir, Turkey, Fort Belvoir, Fort Bragg, and Fort Sam. She was a dedicated, kind-hearted nurse. The family wished to express their deep appreciation for the kindness and compassion shown by the staff members at The Forum at Lincoln Heights and Odyssey Hospice.
A funeral service will take place at 1:00pm on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at The Main Post Chapel, 1605 Wilson Way, San Antonio, Texas 78234. She will be buried with military honors at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the Warrior and Family Support Center, 3138 Rawley Chambers San Antonio, Texas 78219. We celebrate Mim’s long life, well- lived.
