Dorothy Dowell Bryan, died Wednesday, January 31, 2007. She was born in Houston, Texas on February 6, 1928 to Martin and LaVeeda Dowell who both have predeceased her.
She married her husband William F. Bryan, the love of her life, on February 2, 1951.
She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church for 50 years and until her illness prevented it, she volunteered at the Bexar County Republican headquarters every week.
She was the first woman elected to the Board of Trustees of the Northeast Independent School District.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Bryan. Survivors: daughters, Pam Davis and husband, Eddie, Julie McClure, Justice Sandee Bryan Marion and husband, Dr. Homero R. Garza; grandchildren, Rachael Huff, Joshua Davis, Natalee Marion, Elizabeth McClure, William McClure and Nicole Garza; five great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank her caregivers at Homewood Residence of Castle Hills and the nurses at Vitas Hospice for their compassionate care.
