

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lucy Evans and her loving husband of 61 years, William Forester Cooke, Jr.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Cooke Simpson and her husband, Pat of San Antonio; her son, Clayton L. Cooke and his wife, Connie of Houston; her five grandchildren, William Forester Cooke III, Corbin Evans Cooke and his wife, Eleanor, Cameron Thomas Cooke and his fiancé, Dawn Tetrick, Kelli Simpson McWhorter, and Dorothy Brooke Simpson; also survived by her five great-grandchildren, Ashton, Kathleen, Caroline, Chloe' and Corbin Cooke. She and her husband, Bill resided in Houston for 52 years.
She was a member of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, Lakeside Country Club, the Blue Bird Circle, Houston Junior League Tea Room patron, and the Delta Gamma Sorority. She will be remembered for her passionate enthusiasm for living, her youthfulness and generosity of heart, her love for people, traveling around the world, gardening, bridge and needlepoint.
Dorothy was a woman of dignity and strength who enjoyed laughter, entertaining her family and friends, and serving her community. She was a true angel and felt she had a lot of other angels.
