

Dorothy attended Sidney Lanier High School and Our Lady of the Lake University where she took classes in interior design. Dorothys father, Lalito Astol was a trailblazer of Spanish Radio and TV in San Antonio and the entire country. Her Mother, Susie Mijares Astol, came from long line of Circus performers including the world renowned Mijares wire walkers. Dorothy married the love of her life, Rodolfo Davila, in 1955 and they remained in love, cherishing everyday they were together, until the day she died. Together, Dorothy and Rudy started Davila Pharmacy in 1955. Dorothy always enjoyed trimming the windows, making Easter baskets, and decorating the Pharmacy. Dorothy was responsible for encouraging the first physician to open his office at Davila Pharmacy which provided much needed care to San Antonios Westside community. She was loved and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonardo "Lalito" and Susie Mijares Astol, Siblings Frank Gonzalez and Magdalena Morales. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Rodolfo Davila Jr.; daughter Rosette Davila; son Rudy Davila III (Jackie); grandchildren, Frances Davila and Rudy Davila IV; Sister, Linda Bazaldua (Gilbert) along with numerous nieces and nephews from California, Tennessee and Texas. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Porter Loring Mortuary.
