She was a rare combination of grace, style, strength and athleticism. Whether on the runway as a model in Chicago, or the bowling lane as the Texas state champion, Dorothy was a delight to behold.
It was while in Chicago she met her true love, a man by the name of Julian Gold. Dorothy's grace and beauty were equaled only Julian's charm and style. Glamorous and handsome, but even more warm and embracing, Julian and Dorothy were a couple for the ages.
They moved to San Antonio and founded Julian Gold in 1945. Dorothy's sense of style and Julian's dedication to service and integrity were on display everyday. They worked side by side for 40 years until Julian preceded Dorothy in death in 1988. Doing what she loved most, Dorothy continued to work until unable.
Surrounded by those who loved her, Dorothy Hay Gold died Saturday, February 15, 2003.
Dorothy was adored and loved by those who survived her. Daughter and son in law, Gail and Robert Gurwitz; grandchildren, Gregg and Jeanne Gurwitz, Brad and Lisa Gurwitz, Joe and Julie Dubrof; and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her Family at Julian Gold and the continuing service to the community they provide.
Pallbearers will be: Herman Cundiff, Alan Dreeben, Joe Dubrof, James Glover, Brad Gurwitz, Gregg Gurwitz and Harris Sterling.
The family is grateful to Martha Ginete and Adella Rodriguez for the loving care they provided Dorothy these past few years.
