Gail, In the next few months, you will miss your mother terribly, but then the wonderful memories will linger. After all these many years, I still remember visiting your home when we were in first grade! May God bless you and your family.

Who can ever forget the beautiful and elegant, Dorothy Gold. I was just a teenager when I met Dorothy and Julian Gold at the Corpus Christi Santa Fe store through their friend, my mother, Dora Cervera Mirabal. My mother was an entrepreneur who required to be fashionably dressed and Dorothy saw to it that she was. The extent of my mother's wardrobe came from Julian Gold. Dorothy knew my mother's taste in clothes sometimes adding style to them. Never-the-less, always selecting them for her and sending them down from the San Antonio store and making sure that when they arrived, Dora be shown the clothes. Needless to say, being Dora's daughter, Mrs. Gold did the same for me, with the extent of my clothes, coming from Julian Gold and they still do. From the Santa Fe store to the Alamda stores we followed the Golds, wherever they moved. I can still recall the days that the Gold's were in town. Always, together. Even to the present store, in Lamar Park. I would walk in and Mr. Gold would be right up front while Dorothy would be sitting in her favorite spot near the back of the store. He would first greet me and then I would go and greet Mrs. Gold who would say, Hi! Rosie, I'm going to New York and I'm going to bring you back a special dress." And, she did. She knew, I was very involved with the community and had a passion for beautiful clothes. I still have some of the beautiful dresses she selected for me. Indeed, Dorothy was a remarkable human being, a classic, who will be dearly, missed..... Rosie and Richard R. Garza

We wish to extend our deepest sympathy at the loss of Mrs. Gold. The article in the San Antonio paper portrays your store so well. We are "Bridal" customers and have found only the best at Julian Gold. Her legacy lives on.
