Dorothy Shapiro Jacobs

Dorothy Shapiro Jacobs, age 100, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2021. She was born on October 24, 1921 in San Antonio, TX to parents Morris and Sophie Wollins Shapiro. She is survived by her daughters Diana Narunsky (Morris) and Sharon Mellon (Sidney) and brother, Albert Shapiro (Joanie), sister-in-law Ida Rose Shapiro. Grandchildren Harold David Narunsky (Tasha), Andrew Narunsky (Veronica), Scott Mellon (Alison), Michael Mellon (Jena Hirschbein), Lindsey Ben-Ezra (Jackob). Great Grandchildren Serena, Shoshana, Zoe, Ruby, Nomi, Julia, Alexis, and Luke.

Dorothy worked most of her life at Lachman-Rose Toy Company. She was one of the glass ceiling breakers when she entered the field of sales as a woman in early 1970s.

She was an avid sports enthusiast. She loved tennis, bowling and swimming, but her joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and taking care of her nieces and nephews. Above all, being with her family was most important to her.

Her summers were spent catering to the individual interest of her grandchildren.

Her goals in life were to see her grandchildren married with children of their own.

Her optimism and joy of life were an inspiration to all who knew and loved her.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
