

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and sister, Dorothy Beck Simmons Robbins passed on October 9, 2017 at her home in San Antonio, Texas. She had a peaceful passing and enjoyed a long and wonderful life of 96 years.
Dorothy was born on the family farm outside Buffalo Missouri at the confluence of the Nianga River. She grew up on the family farm, homesteaded by her great-great grandfather, Jasper Nickolas Beck around 1850. Riding her horse, Nellie, every day to school and for fun was one of her main enjoyments during those years.
Dorothy, or Dottie, was the wife of Earl Wayne Simmons Sr. mother of two boys, Wayne Simmons and Jerel Simmons, was the office real estate broker for W.T. Connolly Real Estate out of Floresville, and later owned and operated several of her own businesses. After being widowed for ten years, she retired and relocated to the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. She met and married William Robbins of Diamondhead. They relocated to San Antonio in 2005 and lived out the remainder of their lives.
Dorothy was loved by all, and is survived by her two sons, Wayne Jr. and wife Helen, of San Antonio and Jerel Simmons of New Braunfels; four grandchildren, Darren Wayne (Angela), Kimberly Shannon (Travis Burns), Bryhn William Simmons (Kelly), Kristen Beck Scribner; twelve great grandchildren, Nicholas Simmons, Jordan Burns, April Simmons, Conner Simmons, Jared Burns, Mallary Simmons, Jessica Burns, Lily Simmons, Andrew Simmons, Kaden Scribner, Hudson Simmons and Kate Scribner.
Dorothy is also survived by her brothers and sister, Terry Beck, Bill Beck, Patti Beck Travis, Mike Beck and Dale Beck(Nephew), Sonja Su Pennington, and Sherry Pennington.
The family wishes to express deep gratitude to the team at Harbor Hospice and Cornerstone Care for adopting Dottie into their family of care and assisting to make her recent days beautiful ones.
Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Chapel on Monday, October 16, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 12 pm. Dorothy will be laid to rest with her loving husband, Earl Sr. at Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio.
