She was preceded in death by her loving cousins, Dolores Graham and Peggy Heyde, her brothers Ralph "Pinky", William "Bill", sister Helen, and her Aunt Beatrice Slavin.
Dorothy is a San Antonio native, born unto Marie Rinewine and Ralph Slavin. She was raised by her beloved Aunt Beatrice and her dear Grandmother Simona. She graduated from Brackenridge High School in 1944 and received her degree from Draughon's Business College.
Dorothy was an accomplished administrator and paralegal who retired from Bexar County after 35 years. She spent 20 of those years under the service of several District Attorneys. Her career longevity is a testament to her professionalism and dedication to justice.
In her retirement and leisure, Dorothy enjoyed shopping and preparing meals for her family. She spent time with her much-loved cousins of the Graham and Heyde families. As the family matriarch, Dorothy was appreciated for her lively spirit and sense of humor. She loved "un pequito cerveza" and getting dressed up to go dancing with her lifetime dance partner, "Andy".
We are grateful to Dorothy's long-time care-giver, Trini Ramon, for her care and companionship. We find comfort in the fact that Dorothy's passing was peaceful and painless.
Please join us to celebrate Dorothy's life and legacy with a visitation on Sunday, July 10th at 6:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Porter Loring on McCullough.
