He retired as a First Sergeant from the Army after 20 years of service. He then worked for the San Antonio River Authority until his retirement in 1989.
He is survived by his wife, Angela Atkins of San Antonio; daughters, Blynda Atkins of Austin, Judy Snouffer and husband Chuck, Diane Taylor and husband Fred , all of Boerne, Sandra Zettler and husband, Nick of Arvada, CO; sister, Bettie Pickle of NY; aunt, Etta Glover; 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
