Dr. Steven Dale Martin

Dr. Steven Dale Martin went to be with the Lord at the age of 67 on October 1, 2021. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was born on September 1, 1954 in San Antonio, Texas. He was baptized at Redeemer Lutheran Church. He was a Christian by faith and a member of Coker United Methodist Church. He was the son of James P. Martin and Lorene (Behrend) Martin. He was a graduate of Edison High School in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from Texas Lutheran University with a Bachelors Degree in Biology. He attended the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, School of Dentistry and started a private practice in 1981. In 1984 he moved to McCamey Texas, where he practiced General Dentistry for nine years. While living in McCamey he realized pediatric dentistry was his passion. He returned to the Health Science Center in 1991 to complete a residency in Pediatric Dentistry. He was a pediatric dentist in San Antonio, Texas until he retired in 2018. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Cynthia (Mclaughlin) Martin, daughter Brittany (Martin) Granby, son Trent Michael Martin, son-in- law Ryan Granby, grandchild Hayden Cash Granby, brother Douglas Dean Martin and his wife Kathi.

He loved God, his country, family and friends. He had many passions which included living life to the fullest while traveling (anywhere and everywhere), fishing, hunting, hiking, skiing, cooking and exercising. His joy in life was being around as many family members and friends as possible.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 22 at 10:00 am at Coker United Methodist Church, 231 East North Loop Road, San Antonio, Texas. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association, Benevolence Fund or the Health and Wellness Ministries at Coker United Methodist Church.
