Duane W. “Bill” Hupp was born on January 20, 1921 in San Diego, California to Harry and Florence Hupp. He entered eternal rest of July 23, 2010 at the age of 89. Serving as a combat medic in WWII storming the beaches of Normandy on D-day, Bill’s courage and bravery earned him numerous Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. His charisma, wit, and sense of humor always brightened up any room. Bill is loved and will be missed dearly. He is survived by his loving wife, Manuela, sisters, Dorothy and Doll; brother, Manny; sons, Bill, Raymond, and Robert; daughters, Rita, Karen and Rebecca; grandchildren, Sam, Albert, Jacqueline, Noah and Remy. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road on Monday, July 26, 2010 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. The funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 8:30 A.M. Tuesday, July 27, 2010 for a 9:00 A.M. mass at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with Army military honors.
