

Dustin was a devoted family man whose greatest joy was spending time with his loved ones. He cherished moments with his family, especially playing dinosaurs with Greyson. One of his favorite traditions was making fried turkeys on Thanksgiving and creating lasting memories during the holidays. Known for his playful spirit, Dustin loved joking around and pranking his sisters, always bringing laughter to those around him.
Dustin was a hardworking and determined man who took great pride in his career accomplishments. Through dedication and perseverance, he earned his HVAC Technician license and Universal EPA certification, a milestone that reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family.
He also had a deep love for the outdoors and adventure, enjoying trips and cruising in his truck. Dustin lived life with warmth, humor, and loyalty, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Dustin is reunited in heaven with his brother, Eric Newsom; his aunt Laura Ann Simons; his grandmother, Sylvia Simons; his step-grandfather, Ernest Martinez, beloved husband of Ofelia Sandoval; his aunt, Blanca Sandoval; his uncle, Augustine Sandoval; and his cousins, Arturo Gutierrez, Lucio “Juju” Carmona III.
He is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Michelle Renee Newsom; his children, Greyson Lee Newsom, Aedin Flores, Elijah Flores, Mari Newsom (Zaye Johnson), and Dustin Newsom Jr.; and his cherished grandson, Damarian Johnson.
He is also survived by his mother, Angelica Newsom; his father, Efrain Sandoval; his grandmother, Ofelia Sandoval; and his sisters, Laura Zepeda (Mario Zepeda), Destinee Casanova (Steve Casanova), and Lydrina Newsom Madrid (Andrew Madrid).
Dustin is further survived by his nephews, Liam Zepeda and Layton Zepeda; his nieces, Brielle Zepeda, Danielle Casanova, and Savanna Casanova; his uncles, Alex Sandoval, Gus Lopez, Albert Sandoval, Pete Arriaga, Anastacio DeOca, and Roy DeOca; his aunt, Abby Sandoval; He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Harley Newsom.
Dustin will be remembered for his loving heart, playful personality, strong work ethic, and unwavering devotion to his family. His memory will live on through the laughter he shared and the love he gave so freely.
A Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, located at 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237, on January 22, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with a Rosary at 7:00 PM.
The Chapel Service will be conducted at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home on January 23, 2026, at 10:00 AM, with a Committal Service to follow at Wild Flower Cemetery, 10392 Kriewald Rd, San Antonio, TX 78245.
After the chapel service concludes, the family kindly asks that friends and family travel to the cemetery in their own vehicles, as there will be no formal procession.
